About Us

Find out more about what we do and how we work

Ruggles Contracting specializes in: exterior roof tight framing, metal roof cladding, Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) as well as general contracting services.

Incorporated in 2020, Ruggles has been serving Nova Scotia since early 2014. John Ruggles himself has 30 years of experience as a contractor.

We have three teams with three lead hands. One has 15 years of experience in framing, while another has 15 years of experience in metal roofing. All members of our crews are covered by Workers Compensation and trained in First Aid. Everyone is fully trained and highly experienced in their area of expertise.

We serve several key areas of the province, including the Valley, Windsor area and the HRM – essentially everything within 150km radius from Windsor. All of our services are available within this area. If you have a project that needs doing outside of this area, let us know the details – we may still be able to help!

Held to High Standards

Beyond offering a 5-year warranty on all of our work, our team is focused on clear communication and transparency. The quote you receive is the cost of the job ahead – there are no hidden fees. Our crew always strives to arrive on site early. And don’t be shy about asking us questions – our respectful and personable staff are eager to help.

Safety is a Priority

As a member of the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association, Ruggles Contracting takes the safety of our team and the worksite very seriously. That’s why we carry commercial liability insurance at all times. We have Workers Compensation coverage and provide staff with all the necessary safety courses, including WHMIS and First Aid training.

We have a partnership with a third-party safety coordinators Kimber Tucker. They design safety programs for 180 companies in the construction industry, operating in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. They perform an initial hazard assessment of our work sites before we start a new job so that every member of our team is aware of the potential hazards and acts accordingly.

All of our gear is inspected annually. We also host toolbox talks to further educate our staff

Neat & Tidy

We always want to leave a work site tidier than how we found it. Our team is consistent in practising great housekeeping and thorough clean-up of the site as the project wraps up.
